Miami: A Cosmopolitan Hub

Vibrant, flamboyant, energetic…Miami is all of this and much more. This cosmopolitan hub sways to a hot Latin beat, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find a city that’s a true microcosm of the world, a bustling metropolis that displays its international flavor with pride.

South Beach is most recognizably “Miami” with its periwinkle, turquoise and purple Art Deco buildings set against a backdrop of aquamarine ocean, wide sandy beaches and swaying palm trees. A pastel-colored playground for the international jet set, this is the place to see and be seen when you’re in South Florida. For a quieter slice of sea and sand you can head over to Key Biscayne, a secluded paradise and natural refuge, dotted with boardwalks, walking trails and an old lighthouse.

Little Havana offers a different kind of rhythm. The restaurants, clubs and cigar shops are authentically Cuban, and the zesty spirit of the island nation rings loud and clear through this neighborhood. Coconut Grove also hums with plenty of energy and style. The oldest settlement in South Florida, the Grove is both upscale and urban, with an eclectic mix of galleries, boutiques and sidewalk cafés lining its historic streets.

When the locals want to get away, they head for the Keys. This 126-mile chain of mangrove-fringed islands is closer to Cuba than Miami. Surrounded by the world’s third largest barrier-reef system and several historic shipwrecks, the scuba diving and snorkeling in this part of the world is simply spectacular.
