Founded in 1881, Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center (P/SL) in Denver, Colorado, today cares for tens of thousands of patients each year. Presbyterian/St. Luke’s, part of the HealthONE healthcare system, is staffed by nearly 1,600 employees and is the leading regional hospital, serving Denver and the Rocky Mountain and Great Plains regions. This 680-bed facility is the largest medical facility in Colorado. P/SL is a leader in caring for high-acuity fetal, neonatal, pediatric and adult patients. The P/SL’s 97-bed Mother and Child Hospital is a "hospital within a hospital," and offers nearly 40 medical, surgical and specialty services that meet the needs of children and their families. Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center offers nurses the ability to work with the latest technology available. The sophisticated medical equipment is among the finest in the region, and new advances are being incorporated every day. State-of-the-art equipment includes ECMO (Extra-Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation) heart and lung bypass equipment, neurosurgical imaging guidance system, high-frequency ventilation machines, inhaled nitric oxide, and the region’s only multi-chamber Hyperbaric Medicine Center.
